Protecting Saanich. Serving with Pride.

Since 1919, our members have been committed to keeping our community safe while building strong relationships with the people we serve.

Every year, Saanich firefighters respond to thousands of calls, including fires, medical emergencies, rescues, and hazardous materials incidents. Our team is trained, equipped, and ready to respond to any emergency, 24 hours a day.

  • Serving Saanich since 1919

  • 130+ uniformed members

  • 3 fire stations

  • 4,900+ calls annually

We are more than firefighters - we are your neighbours, your support system, and your first call in an emergency.

WHO WE ARE

Saanich Firefighters are proud members of a progressive and highly trained fire service serving one of British Columbia’s largest municipalities.

Our department is built on a foundation of teamwork, professionalism, and service. From frontline emergency response to public education and prevention, every member plays a critical role in keeping our community safe.

We are committed to:

  • Preserving life

  • Protecting property

  • Safeguarding the environment

  • Supporting our community through education and outreach

Our firefighters work across multiple divisions including suppression, rescue, dispatch, training, and fire prevention, ensuring a coordinated and effective response to any situation.

Our CHARITY FOUNDATION

The Saanich Fire Fighters' Charitable Foundation is operated through hundreds of fundraising and volunteer hours by the members of Local 967. The mandate of the Saanich Fire Fighters' Charitable foundation is supporting youth in Saanich. Our members proudly serve our community in as many capacities as we can. Giving back through our charitable foundation allows us to connect with our community in another meaningful way.

Help us today by donating so that we can continue to expand our support of youth health and sports in Saanich.

Your donation goes directly to programs and organizations in need in Saanich.
